Memories always seem to need a particular place – it's as if they almost exist in those locations. How we react to a place is much more than how it appears to us. It is a fluid combination of what we see, what we know and our relationship to where we are. Over many years I have repeatedly visited places that have particular memories for me.

The work comes from hundreds of journeys in England, Scotland and Wales. Revisiting places that have particular memories for me, I use monochrome film and a selection of old medium format cameras that have unique “faults or damage” to produce negatives, which are then high resolution scanned and post produced using photoshop.

Revisited is a personal intuitive response to time and place. The photographs are response to how I feel rather than to what I see.

The work has no real end and continues to develop with new images added over time. Two images originated in Scotland have been purchased/commissioned by Vistoimages Paris for installation in the George Hotel Edinburgh.
